THE QUADRAPHONNES -- ALL GIRL SAX QUARTET WITH BASS AND DRUMS!
This is a quirky little project. Made up of Portland's sax Elite the Quadraphonnes are redefining Sax Quartets. We play everything from Frank Zappa to John Coltrane, all arranged for sax and rhythm. Everyone writes, everyone arranges, everyone rules!
Marysue Tobin -- Again sax GODDESS
Michelle Medler -- Sax Goddess
Mieke Bruggeman -- Sax Goddess
Chelsea Luker -- Sax Goddess
Brandy Keehn -- Drum Goddess
Leah Hinchcliff -- Did I mention that I play the bass?

Donny Osborne -- THE Drummer. Donny played with Mel Torme for 25 years. He told me (in confidence) that I am his FAVORITE bassist. How's that for a feather in your cap? We play whenever we can, usually with a piano and a vocalist. Check it out. It's not everyday you get to see and hear a legend like Donny play with a legend (in my own mind) like me.

Other projects you might hear me with:

Sandy Dennison Jazz Vocalist and Chanteuse --
Sassy, and Classy. Great American Songbook!

Sonny "Smokin'" Hess --
Blues guitar great Sonny Hess and her "Women in Blues" project has garnered the attention of every serious blues lover in the NW. I love to do duos with her and just pump out the shuffle!

SWAMP CACTUS –
Sophisticated melodies, complex harmonies and down deep swing make this jazz quartet a favorite among NW jazz aficionados. Their new recording, 4 Decades showcases the talented compositions of Jack Buddeke, pianist and leader. Bassist Leah Hinchcliff and Saxophonist Mary Sue Tobin also have compositions on this unique recording. The band can be heard at jazz clubs around the NW.

FORMER GROUPS:

SWAMP MAMA JOHNSON –
This very successful Indie Band made their bones in the music world by touring the North American continent non-stop for 10 years. Four records with over 40,000 copies sold, earned them admiration and interest from the “big labels”, however these 5 uber-talented women chose to remain loyal to their beliefs and fans and did it on their own terms. The band played some of the biggest festivals, arenas, colleges, showcases and on live radio and television broadcasts. They were voted “Best Band of Seattle” in 1999 outdoing local faves, Pearl Jam. Loyal fans known as “gatorheads” are still heard to wonder, “will my Mama ever return?”
